Youth Conference

Well, I've just gotten back from Youth Conference last week and am really glad I went. We drove up to Cinnamon Creek (just outside of Paradise, which is just outside of Hyrum, which is just outside of Logan) above Porcupine Reservoir. It is a great campsite. It's run by the LDS church and has about 24 campsites. We stayed in one of the bigger ones with running water, flush toilets, and a gas stove. It's more of a girl's camp area, but it worked just the same. There was an old mine near our campsite, Rosy's Mine. I'd never heard of it before and there's not much in or around it. Just below it is an old, broken-down building that probably was used by the miners when they needed to stay somewhere. The mine itself is somewhere between an eigth and a quarter of a mile long and probably an average height of 5' 3". At the end is a somewhat larger room with a tunnel that leads to a pool full of water. The missionaries serving at Cinnamon Creek guessed the mine was a Lead Mine. We played softball and kickball when we got back to the campsite, then had tacos. Then we had a testimony meeting and played Murder in the Dark. The next day we went to the Logan Aquatic Center, who were on school hours, but let us in anyway, so we had the entire pool to ourselves. It was pretty neat.
